Masterminding ...NOT!

I keep coming across websites and organizations that claim to offer masterminding services and what they're really offering are outrageously priced teleconferences. I can't imagine why anyone would want to pay thousands of dollars to have a few hours a month to basically be coached over the telephone.

Now if you're after coaching, then that's great; but, let's be clear that's not masterminding. Masterminding happens when you have peer based group members who are committed to each other in an atmosphere of collaboration. I believe the best mastermind groups use facilitators, but either way, the group itself is the impetus of the productivity. A facilitator is used to free up the members to do what they do best, keeps the group focused, and prompts critical thinking and networking.

The collaboration spaces we offer come with or without facilitators, but for an incredible fraction of the cost of what the 'so-called' mastermind organizations are charging you can have access to your group to really collaborate with one another 24/7 if you want. You're not limited to two hours a month for $500 to $1,000 and you incur no travel expenses or long distance charges.

If you really need someone to motivate you, or provide consulting services, then go for it, but if you're looking for real masterminding, then this is the place to do it ... onground, online, or a combination of both.
